Diploma in Integrative Supervision of Individuals and Groups: Contact details below for counsellors/psychotherapists requiring supervision

I am an accredited and experienced counsellor/therapist professionally trained in counselling and psychotherapy (PgDip Counselling Psychology, Roehampton University) and accredited by the BACP. My first degree was in Cognitive Science BSc (Hons) and I gained my clinical experience in a variety of settings including charities, GP surgeries and primary care NHS services. I set up Hertfordshire Counselling and CBT with my colleague Mr Georgiou. Our aim was to provide facilitative and supportive counselling/therapy for clients who find that waiting lists via other agencies caused further life difficulties. Due to my own experience in this profession and the evidence I have accumulated through my work I am a firm believer that talking therapy is a useful mechanism for change, consideration and resolution for the individual. I currently work in both a clinical setting with the NHS and as a private practitioner providing face to face counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples and work with ages 18+.

I offer both short term and long term counselling/therapy. As a trained therapist I provide a safe, secure, nonjudgmental environment and offer an exploratory space for the client to consider and work through issues and problems.

I work in a supportive and motivational manner. The aim is to actively work with my clients encouraging them to develop insights into their problems. This is achieved through a genuine dialogue in sessions which enables exploration of thought/thinking; possibly difficult or emotionally painful feelings and related behaviours. The aim is to facilitate a clearer self understanding and find resolution where needed.

My Philosophy / Approach

I lean heavily toward Existentialism and I employ a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building, dialogue, communication and behaviour change that are designed to improve the psychological/emotional health of my client. In my experience therapy is a creative and authentic process which has the potential to encourage personal growth for the client. Depending on my clients needs I may use one approach or integrate numerous approaches such as Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Existential, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Mindfulness.

I provide private counselling and psychotherapy services for these issues:

Abuse, Anger Problems, Anxiety, Assertiveness, Bereavement, Borderline Personality Disorder Childhood Issues, Depression, Divorce, Eating Disorders, Exploring Life & Living, Fear, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Lack of Meaning in Life, Living with Illness, Low Self Confidence/Esteem, Loneliness, Mental Health, Narcissism, Neurosis, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Attacks, Panic Disorder, Paranoia, Parent-Child Conflict, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Relationships Issues, Self Development, Separation and Loss, Sexual Abuse, Sexuality/Intimacy, Stress Management, Substance Abuse, Trauma, Unresolved Issues, Work Issues/Stress/Relationships.

Dr Elizabeth (Libi) Deller

RN, RM, BSc (Hons), PhD, DPsych

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and have worked within the NHS for many years, in primary and secondary care, as well as at GP surgeries.  I am currently working in a primary care service in Hertfordshire and at private clinics in St Albans and North London.  I work with many people presenting with a range of problems including anxiety, depression, stress, phobias, relationship & family difficulties, and have a special interest in psychological problems relating to pregnancy, childbirth and other women?s issues such as infertility, menopause etc.  However, although many individuals seek help with specific difficulties, others may wish to use counselling as an opportunity to consider their current situation and future opportunities in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

An initial consultation session provides the opportunity for potential clients to discuss the particular problems they are experiencing and to decide whether they believe we could work together effectively.  The proposed length of therapy is also discussed at this stage, which can vary from just a few sessions to longer-term work according to the individual client?s needs and wishes.  Each session is 50 minutes long, and wherever possible a regular appointment time is agreed at the beginning of therapy.

My Approach

Because every client is unique, I tailor my therapeutic approach according to the individual?s preference and their presenting issue or problem, choosing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy or Psychodynamic Therapy, or a combination of these approaches.

Professional Registration

I am a British Psychological Society accredited Chartered Counselling Psychologist (registration number 084468) and an HPC registered Practitioner Psychologist (registration number PYL28058).

Ms. Yael Leinman

BSc (Hons), MSc, Master Practitioner NLP, MBACP Accredited Voluntary Register (063055)

As an experienced therapist both in the voluntary sector as well as in the NHS, my aim is to provide therapeutic intervention which is effective and meaningful to the client.

I have years of experience providing short term (6-12 sessions) and long term therapy depending on the needs of the individual. Clients I have worked with have presented with a range of emotional difficulties including phobias, low mood, anxiety, relationship difficulties and much more while some have the desire to use therapy for personal development. I have also worked more specifically with difficulties around bereavement and with issues affecting the gay, lesbian and bisexual community.

I recommend that when entering therapy there is commitment involved for the process and desire to make a change in order for the therapy to be effective.

At Hertfordshire Counselling & CBT Service in St. Albans I provide short term and long term therapy which is 60 minutes session on Thursdays and Saturdays at the cost of £60 per session. In addition, I provide therapy sessions at the client’s home if this approach is deemed to be professionally adequate and relevant to the needs of the client. Different charges apply for home therapy sessions which ranges from £80-£120 depending on the agreed duration of session and travelling distance. This will be agreed prior to commencement of therapy.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach comprises of an integration of psychological theories, whereby my psychological underpinning resides in a humanistic approach, namely person-centred therapy. I am able to provide cognitive-behaviour therapy, solution-focus therapy with more conventional therapeutic approaches in mind. As a master Neuro-Lingusitic Programming practitioner, I am also able to provide more practical strategies to coping with difficulties, and my aim is to work with the client using the best of my abilities and knowledge in a way which would be helpful and relevant while refraining from fitting a client into a psychological ?model? or theory. As my work is influenced by systemic thinking; importance to family dynamics is always considered in my work.

Professional Registration

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and therefore adhere to the association Ethical framework for good practice. I have an MSc in Counselling Psychology and continuously access professional development courses in order to develop and widen my practical and theoretical knowledge.
